Taxi Driver Directed by Martin Scorsese in 1976 the film Taxi Driver is a sadistic tale of a lonely individual living in New York City. Main character Travis Bickle played by Robert De Niro comes across an array of colorful characters on the late night streets of New York City. He has this opportunity of course because he is a taxi driver. As the film develops he eventually meets the co-star of the movie Iris Steensma played by Jodie Foster. Iris is a very young prostitute which disgusts De Niro. He quickly snaps and you see the wild things that people often think happen. This movie is a timeless classic for rebel films. Possibly one of De Niro’s greatest roles and most famous. The mow-hawk is a classic badass look in the movie and the line “You talkin’ to me?” was also extracted from this movie. Possibly one of the most famous lines he is quoted for. This is no doubt one of my all time favorite movies not only because of the acting but because the plot is just too good. Also another great part about the movie is they never made a terrible sequel. Which in my eyes means the also thought it was too good and leaving it at one meant protecting its greatness.
